AL LINDNER:
During his over six decade career, Al Lindner ranks among one of the most renowned leaders in the sportfishing industry. As co-host of Lindner’s Angling Edge, he specializes in producing educational fishing programs, TV commercials, and social media content.
Al and his brother Ron were co-founders of Lindy Fishing Tackle and In-Fisherman Magazine & Communication Network, helping define fishing tactics, tackle, and established how fishing knowledge is shared. He is a two-time Bassmaster tournament winner and has competed in three Bassmaster Classic Championships events. Besides being one of the earliest and more famous participants in professional tournament fishing, he is one of the few fishermen who has successfully fished and won major bass tournaments in the South as well as professional walleye tournaments in the North.
Al continues to fish avidly for all freshwater fish, averaging about 190 days a year on the water, and is recognized and hailed as one of the world’s most famous freshwater anglers. For more than twenty years, Al has shared inspirational, faith-based messages at the close of his fishing television shows—moments that have become just as meaningful to many viewers as the fishing itself.
These reflections aren’t scripted sermons or heavy-handed declarations; they’re thoughtful, personal reminders about gratitude, humility, perseverance, and the deeper purpose. Through stories drawn from real life—family, challenges, successes, and setbacks—Al has encouraged generations of anglers to consider their faith, values, and relationships, offering hope and perspective. That steady commitment to ending each show with encouragement and spiritual grounding has left a lasting impact, making his work resonate far beyond fishing and into the hearts of those who’ve watched for decades.
